We needed a new carpet so we drove to the business park on the North Circular (the sort of place where gritty police dramas are filmed) where by happy coincidence there was an Allied Carpets and a Carpet Right next to each other.
First it was Carpet Right. We went in, and waited. Employees could see us waiting but seemed to have taken a course in advanced eye-contact avoidance. When we eventually got to see someone they were so disinterested and unhelpful that we left feeling somewhat disappointed despite the fact that they actually had exactly the sort of carpet we were after.
Next was Allied Carpets. We went in and were immediately seen by a very helpful guy who went out of his way to answer our questions and offer up advice. They actually didn’t have the carpet we were after but we went with the next best thing entirely because of how he had treated us and because we felt that if he was helpful then the fitters and follow up care would be good too.
